As technology becomes more integrated into our everyday lives children need to understand how to design, build and improve solutions for specific purposes. These skills are taught at Cheddar Grove Primary School through the teaching of 6 core modules.

 

Command & Code Module
 

Module Outline:


The Command & Code module aims to introduce children to the basics of visual and written computing programming.

 

Communication Module

 

Module Outline:

 

In a world where the use of ICT to communicate is becoming more prominent, it is vital that we equip children with the ability/skills to communicate and present effectively using a range of digital mediums and resources. The Communication Module aims to provide children with the skills required to be confident in using digital technologies safely to share ideas and communicate opinions in a real life context and to a worldwide audience.

 

Spread-sheets, Modelling & Simulations Module

 

Module Outline:

 
Existing and future technologies rely on users ability to make and test predictions. In this module children will use simulations to explore virtual environments and solve problems involving real life data.

 

Film, Video and Digital Media Module

 

Module Outline:

 

The Film and Digital Recording/ Module aims to support and enhance learning through providing opportunities to use film to enhance learning across the curriculum. 

 

Digital Photography, Art and Animation

 

Module Outline:

 

The Digital Photography, Art and Animation module aims to provide children with opportunities to use digital technologies to enhance other National Curriculum subjects including Geography, History, P.E, Art, Science and Design and Technology.  

 

E-Safety Module

 

Module Outline:

 

The E-Safety Module aims to provide children with an understanding of how to use online technologies safely and provides children with the skills and knowledge to become responsible digital citizens.
